Military Band

Date and Time

Sunday, August 11

  • First Performance: 12:00 pm
  • Second Performance: 3:30 pm

The Missouri National Guard’s 135th Army Band invites you to join them at the Missouri State Fair as they celebrate the service of Veterans, current and past Service Members, military families, and community members in a free concert as part of the fair’s Military Appreciation Day, on Sunday August 11, 2024. This concert will feature their Concert Band and Jazz Band on at 12:00pm and 3:30pm at the Mathewson Exhibition Center.

In keeping with the Missouri State Fair’s “Summer Best Story” theme, the 135th Army Band uses music to tell the Army’s story, and that of every Soldier past, present, and future. From traditional concert marches to Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” to Johnny Cash’s “Ragged Old Flag,” you are sure to leave this concert proud of our military service members and proud to be an American.

The 135th Army Band is under the Command of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Keith Moyer and First Sergeant Charles Bart. The Citizen-Soldiers of the 135th Army Band represent a diverse group of individuals who proudly serve our great Nation and State. They are college students, engineers, teachers, music performers, pilots, business professionals, and your neighbors. As Soldiers of the Missouri Army National Guard, they stand ready to answer the call and to represent all those who have, and will, wear the uniform proudly.

The 135th Army Band has performed for civic and military events both nationally and internationally, including concerts in Hawaii, Alaska, Germany, France, and all corners of Missouri, and is excited to conclude its 2024 Summer Concert Tour at the Missouri State Fair.
